Terms of Service
Last updated August 24, 2026
Using the site
instrument.games is a collection of browser games for practicing music reading, rhythm, ear training, and instrument fingerings. Using it means you accept these terms. If you do not, please do not use the site.
The games are free to play and most of them need no account. We may change, add, or remove games, levels, and features at any time.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself. Tell us at joshstovall@gmail.com if you think someone else is using it.
Accounts are for people, not scripts. One person may not run multiple accounts to place the same runs on a leaderboard more than once.
You can delete your account from your account settings at any time. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms.
Acceptable use
- Do not automate play, tamper with scoring, or submit runs you did not perform
- Do not choose a display name, bio, or level title that is abusive, hateful, sexual, or impersonates someone else
- Do not attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service
- Do not scrape or republish the site’s content in bulk
Levels you create
If you publish a level, you keep ownership of what you made. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute it within the service so other people can play it, and to credit you as its creator. The same applies to anyone you add as a collaborator on a draft.
You are confirming that you have the right to publish what you upload. Do not publish material that infringes someone else’s copyright. We may unpublish or remove a level that breaks these terms or that we receive a valid infringement complaint about.
Scores and leaderboards
Leaderboards are public: your display name, scores, accuracy, and run times appear to anyone who visits them. We may remove entries we believe were not honestly earned, and we may reset a board when a level’s scoring changes.
Advertising
The site is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. How advertising data is handled is described in the privacy policy.
Our content
The site, its name, its design, and the games themselves belong to us, apart from levels published by their creators and any third-party material used under licence. You may play the games and share links to them; you may not copy the site or pass it off as your own.
No warranty
The service is provided as is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, that scoring or pitch detection will be accurate for every instrument and microphone, or that saved progress can never be lost. It is a practice aid, not a teacher or an assessment.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site, including lost progress, lost scores, or lost time. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes. The date at the top says when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
